Doorways 2 Construction

Pasadena High School has a proud and successful history of running the Doorways 2 Construction Course for both Pasadena students and students from fifteen other local High Schools and Colleges.

This course which is run in collaboration with the Master Builders Association (MBA) and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is offered to Year 11 and 12 students through the Inner South Curriculum Alliance.  In the D2C Course, students complete 10 Units of Work produced by the CITB as part of its Certificate I in General Construction program.

The selection process is competitive and students are required to attend an interview prior to their acceptance into the course.  A separate course fee is payable prior to student enrolment.

Students who have successfully completed the D2C Course in Year 11 may apply to do the D2C Plus program (240 hours at Cert III) with some of the work being done at Pasadena but much off-site at a local TAFE.

In 2017 there will be three classes operating, each on a whole day program.  Students attending from other schools attend Pasadena one day per week and undertake the remainder of their SACE studies in their home school.

More information can be obtained by contacting the school SACE/VET Coordinator, Wendy Lowes or Building and Construction Teacher, David Rogers.
